1tablespooncornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
In a saucepan, rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water, discarding any that are bruised or soft.
Add the rinsed cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger powder, and salt to the saucepan.
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the cranberries burst and soften, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
Taste the sauce and adjust sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if desired.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Gradually add the slurry to the simmering sauce while stirring continuously. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to a serving bowl.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to taste with honey or maple syrup.
