Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a gentle boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and add the trimmed green beans. Stir in the brown sugar and season with salt and pepper.
Cover the skillet and let the green beans cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until they reach your desired tenderness, stirring occasionally.
Once cooked, add lemon juice to brighten the flavors, and toss to combine.
Remove from heat and transfer the green beans to a serving dish.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Adjust crushed red pepper flakes to taste for desired spiciness.
